There may come a time when you have to use System Restore to either set a Restore Point before you install a questionable app, or perform maintenance on a system level; or restore your computer to a previous Restore Point after a major system crash.

To get to System Protection settings you can press Win+R and type Control System and hit Enter, or click Start > right-click Computer > Properties.

Click System protection to display the controls for System Restore.

From this window you can perform a System Restore to a previous restore point, or you can create a Restore Point before you perform some upgrade or maintenance task on your PC.

Whichever option you are selecting, follow the prompts from this point forward.
